You have the power to change the lives of thousands in Waslala.
We have BIG PLANS for 2014. We'd like to build five gravity-fed water projects to help over 1,000 Waslalans gain access to clean water. To reach that goal, we need to raise $130,000 over the next 12 months. With your support, we can get there.
Here are some suggested donation levels:

- -$200: help one Waslalan couple...
- -$500: help one Waslalan family...
- -$5,000: help one Waslalan neighborhood...
- -$20,000: help one entire Waslalan village...

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much do I need to give to make a difference?
Every dollar helps in bringing clean water to Waslala. There is no donation too small or too large. It takes roughly $100 to provide one Waslalan man, woman, or child with access to clean water for a lifetime, and it will take at least $6 million to finish Water for Waslala. To finance an entire water system for a community, typically $20,000 is needed.
Q: What will my money be used for?
80 cents of every dollar donated will be directly wired to Waslala, Nicaragua, to fulfill our mission of bringing clean water to those in need. These funds will be used for buying the materials necessary to install a community’s water system, and to cover the salaries of our local project management staff in Waslala.
The remaining 20 cents on every dollar will be used to cover our operational costs in the US.
Q: Are my donations tax deductible?
Yes, Water for Waslala is a 501(c)(3) organization (EIN 90-0509942) and all donations are tax deductible.
Q: How is accountability ensured?
All funds will be spent on water projects in Waslala, Nicaragua. Our focused goal allows for transparency and accountability for our donors. Donors will be informed of the community to which their funds will be directed for the construction of a new water system through individual emails and letters; major donors will be shown on the projects page.
Our financial statements are also made available on our financials page to convey as much transparency about our financial history as possible.
Q: How do donations get to Waslala?
All donations are sent to Waslala via a wire transfer from Water for Waslala's account to an earmarked bank account of our local partner, ADIS. All funds tranferred to this earmarked account can be used only for Water for Waslala projects, and withdrawals can only be conducted by the project manager and administrator of ADIS. Water for Waslala's Board of Directors monitors the accounting records of ADIS to ensure that all funds are being used for their intended purposes.
